The Sky is Not the Limit


NEW!!! Beneficial Owner Information (BOI) Reporting 

In 2021, Congress passed the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. This law creates a new BOI reporting requirement whereby most U.S. entities must report information about their ownership to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) by January 1, 2025.

We care about you and want you to feel supported!

The FinCEN website for information and to apply can be found at BOI E-Filing System.  We’re happy to help you with the process.

If you have any questions, our resident expert, Dianne Szabo is available to hold your hand through this NEW reporting requirement. Accordingly, please reach out to Dianne at dianne@dmraccounting.com.

Important Note:  The penalty for not completing your BOI report can be substantial, including imprisonment for up to two years and/or a fine of up to $10,000.

Reporting Due Dates – 

Existing Businesses:  If your company already exists as of January 1, 2024, the initial BOI report must be filed by January 1, 2025. 

New Entities established in 202490-Day deadline If your company is created or registered to do business on or after January 1, 2024, and before January 1, 2025, you have 90 calendar days after receiving actual or public notice that the company’s creation or registration is effective to file its initial BOI report.

Future Entities established after 202430-Day deadline If your company is created or registered to do business on or after January 1, 2025, you will have 30 calendar days after receiving actual or public notice that the company’s creation or registration is effective to file its initial BOI report. 

Please note that there could be changes to these due dates and requirements as this is a new reporting requirement, however, we recommend that you err on the side of caution and file as soon as possible.

Texas Franchise Tax

Annual franchise tax reports are due Wednesday, May 15, 2024. There are distinctions between non-EFT and EFT Franchise Taxpayers. You can see more information on the Texas Comptroller tax page.
